Sheriff Roger L. Harris
Serving The Community
Roger L. Harris started his law enforcement career in Fairfax County, VA in 1969 and served faithfully in various positions including supervisor of the polygraph unit until his retirement in 1989. In 1989 Roger began his second career in law enforcement with Spotsylvania County by heading the regional narcotics taskforce working his way up to Lieutenant of the Criminal Investigations Division. Roger was elected Sheriff of Spotsylvania County, VA in November of 2011 and continues to serve his community proudly and humbly.
United By A Common Goal
Sheriff Harris has been extremely successful in his "Community Policing Program". Community-oriented policing brings police professionals, government officials, the community, and neighborhood leaders together to identify and evaluate problems within the community, and work together to solve them. Community policing takes into consideration not only police perceptions of problems but also the desires, needs, and expectations of the community in formulating an appropriate response.

Deadline to request an absentee ballot to be mailed to you is Tuesday, October 29, 2019. Your request must be received by your Registrar by 5:00 p.m.

We begin absentee (not "early") voting 45 days before EACH election. If printing a paper application - submit to voter@spotsylvania.va.us or fax- 540-507-7519.
